A Whirlwind Trip To Florida - Day 2
Thursday May 11th began just a few short hours after ending our trip the night before. With eight hours of driving ahead of us we again hit the road. As we drove through Georgia I noticed a road sign that said there had been almost 500 fatalities on their highways already this year. It seems the people in this state are in an unending hurry to get wherever they are going. I'm guessing that this doesn't help with the fatal accident numbers. Anyhow, we managed to make it out of Georgia and into Florida in on piece....somehow. Upon arrival to the Disney World Resort, our daughter had about an hour to get registered and through her orientation for competing athletes. While waiting for Emilee to finish her to do list my son and I took a look around and stumbled upon a couple of giant objects nearby. One was a football and the other was a giant coke. Both are stairwell covers for the hotel. I hadn't noticed until just now as I write this that the football is sitting on a tee. Funny how the most obvious things can avoid detection sometimes.
Above is the giant football stairwell cover.
Below is the giant Coca-Cola stairwell cover.
Once we finished getting luggage moved into the hotel room, we proceeded to take a little time to rest before heading off to the nightly fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom to take some photos.
This event closed out day two of our Florida journey, and with that we headed back to the hotel for some much needed rest.
